Excited & Recommendations Please!

This evening I have ordered my first MAC eyeshadow (I do have Paintpots but not the shadows!) So I thought as I had a free delivery code and have wanted to buy for AGES but always ended up buying something else.

I have also ordered a quad palette as there are a few shadows that I want but we all have to start somewhere!

A few months back I compiled a list of shadows that I wanted to have a proper look at when I got to HoF , Bluewater. Without even looking at the names I picked a shade and loved it - it was on my list! So this is the one I ordered today and it is 'Woodwinked'. The others that I wanted to see and I may add to collection as I go are the following:
  • Cork
  • Mulch
  • Mystery
  • Smut
  • Mylar
  • Patina
  • Sumptuous Olive
I love Autumn/Winter as I wear more make up and have a different look every day. I don't like heavy make up in the summer. I hate the feel of foundation and so on. So woooo heres to experiment!

I am also in need of a new foundation, I think my skin is having the change at the mo, so I have a feeling that it may become very dry when this lovely weather leaves and we have the cold! I use Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua at the minute, I love it as it is light and does give nice coverage. So do I continue or do I try something new! If so which one. I have been looking at the MAC Matchmaster..... Ideas and suggestions pls! I like Light to Medium coverage and very natural., I like effortless especially for the day!!

I will do a FOTD when Woodwinked arrives... Wooohooo!!

Be back soon!!

Neglect & Purchase!?

Wow! I have not been around for what feels like forever! I have been so busy with work and my 2 kids I have not had 5 mins.

This obviously does not mean that I have neglected buying :-x - Still have had an hour to pop to a shop or 2!

So what have I bought, the one thing I wanted since they came out, although I did buy with boots points so I don't feel too bad :-) and this was the Chanel Illusion D'Ombre in 83 Illusoire, I love this! I will do pictures one morning when at work late and have 5 minutes!
Sleek blush in Suede, I really like this and it can really warm your face up also makes a lovely change from pink!
Clinique All About Eyes, this feels so nice and sits well under make up, is it working - I will get back to you ...
No7 Shine free primer - RUBBISH! I got this as Stay Perfect is sold out EVERYWHERE :-( so thought this could be an alternative, I despise it so much I emailed boots to say that they need to put this new primer into the permanent line. The Shine free has made my skin dry, made my make up patchy and was so difficult to blend into skin. My foundation looked cakey and just awful!I have worn twice and used moisturiser under it o see if this helps - no!! I have used my fingers and a brush to apply and neither make any difference, to say I am disappointed is an understatement! Ho hum live and learn and I am so glad I never paid full price as I would be even more peeved!!!
Anyhoo I will be back! Soon I hope :)

Question 8

What is your favourite day time look?

SIMPLE!
I have 2 girls to get ready and myself in the morning the thought of piling the make up on and all that malarky does nothing for me! I wear the following nearly everyday - I know that is sad but I work in a school, so I am not out to impress and seal the deal etc!

The simple look is posted below. Love it although I have added a bit of shimmer in the past few days as my Illamasqua Furore arrived and I am loving it.

Will do another post about the new purchases!!

I'm Ready For The Weekend and I'm Gonna Buy.....

Something!! Although I don't know what!

I have a list as long as my arm with what I want but some is going to have to wait til I get paid next week. The list goes like this

  • River Island for some plain black palazzo trousers (for work mainly)
  • Chanel Illusion d'Ombre, not sure which shade yet!
  • No7 Stay Perfect Primer as still have a £5 voucher.. Would be silly not too!
  • Black Pumps again for work

In the post I have coming Laura Mercier Powder, Avon Supershock Mascara, Gel Eyeliner and an eyeshadow but I am not sure of the colour as got all 3 things on a deal from my little Avon lady :) and the thing I really excited about is the Illamasqua Pure Pigment in Furore, I have wanted this for ages but never ordered so then I did through ASOS! Wooohhooooo!! Very excited!

Accesorize Blush

Eyes
MAC Painterley Paint Pot
Maybelline Cat Eyes Mascara (new and I am loving it! Have said before though, v lucky with natural eyelashes!)

Maybelline Smoky Eye Quad

Mr Postman bought this today, I got it for £1.59 of some site but I cant remember! Im glad I didnt pay full amount though! Although the colours are nice they need a lot of product to get a nice colour, they are very hard and need some work to blend! Grrrr!

To swatch them it took a few scrapes to get a decent amount :-/

For the money I shant complain too much but I wonder if all Maybelline shadows are the same or if this is why it was so cheap and they have changed it all now? Hope so! I may pop to boots next week and have a look!!

August Favourites

As I have never done a faves before I am going to include what I have been using regularly over the last few months that has carried on. I may add mini reviews also rather than doing individual posts.

So skin care has got to be my Liz Earle Collection that is all noted below. My skin has never felt so good and the fact that it is all natural ingredients, in my head that feels even better!! As for moisturiser I am currently using Nivea Visage Oil Free Daily Moisturiser, this is also very light and sits under my primer and make up nicely. Wouldn't say it keeps shine away as its states 100% but its better than various others I have used, quite cheap too.

Primer I have been using No7's new one Stay Perfect from their Autumn range. I am VERY impressed with this. In the past I have tried their purple tubed one which I thought was rubbish! This on the other hand is REALLY nice. It is not like Benefits Poreless, Cliniques new Pore one. It feels like a cream not silicone and really helps my foundation glide on. So does it make it last any longer - yes! I have used with various foundations ( Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua, Clinique Superbalanced, Estee Lauder Double Wear Light and Dior Forever), I know most of these are suppose to have staying power but I believe this is helping last that bit longer. I am also back to work next week - that will be another test, but it done good the other night when out clubbing!! Thumbs up and until 11th Sept you have the £5 off vouchers so you can pick up for £5.50. I have 2 now!!

E45 Cream. This month I have been using this for the heels of my feet and it has done wonders! I have used heel creams in the past (Avon, Boots and Scholl) but this excels all of them. It has cleared any dryness and helped the start of some cracking (YUK). Who needs to spend lots on cream for ya feet now eh! I apply to clean feet and then put some cotton socks on to help seal in all the moisture :) Mini Pedicure at home!

MAC Rubenesque, we have all heard reviews about this product and I shant waffle on but I love this for a simple day look with a liner and mascara. The lasting power is amazing. Then you can jazz up for the evening. Has a nice amount of sparkle and looks gorgeous with a nice tan.

Chanel Inimitable Intense Mascara, I first got a sample of this as didn't want to commit to a heft tag of £23. So I tried and loved so I bought! This is lovely and very buildable. It does give length, separates well and gives some oomph. This is one of my favourite mascaras :)

Accessorize Baked Blush in Sensation. Although this is new-ish, I have wore this every day and I have had several comments on the lovely glow this has given me. I like that it has some shimmer but not OTT and highlights where you put it, again this looks lovely with a nice tan.

YSL Rouge Volupte in No2 Sensual Silk, this is a very new buy but this has been worn everyday and worn with a simple look or with a more dramatic eye look. I love the feel on my lips, it glides on and feels like it is moisturising as well as giving a beautiful and natural colour. I will be buying more of these in different shades! heehee!!

I recently got sent L'Oreal Professionel Source Re-Naitre shampoo and masque after filling in a survey online. It is for damaged hair, I think I fall into this category after so many heated tools used on it and the bleach that is on it! I use this about 2 x a week and this has given my hair life and bounce back when left to dry naturally. Although it doesn't particularly smell very nice its definately does what it says. You can find the full blurb on their site HERE.

Wow that turned into a waffle. I think there should be more but there is more than enough :-)
